#HealthXPH was born on Twitter. Sometimes I slip and say X … and my son always says, never call it that. I still say tweet chat anyway. I’ve moderated #HealthXPH tweet chats four times before on staying on Twitter or moving out.
- Why are you still on Twitter? last 20 May 2021
- Twitterverse: Healthy Debate or Bardagulan last 4 Feb 2022
- Are you staying on Twitter? last 7 May 2022 – this was days before the presidential elections and Elon had already acquired Twitter
- #HealthXPH: We’re still on Twitter last Dec 2022- I was already exploring Mastodon then.
I signed up for BlueSky from a referral invite by a friend last year. But I went back to BlueSky two months ago joining the exodus of #MedTwitter when Trump won.

I stayed on Twitter longer than I needed to. Even when my feed was no longer giving me good returns from my personal learning network, I stayed. But when I went to BlueSky, I realized it was like the early days of Twitter. Sure I have less followers here but I don’t mind. I find something worth reading or saving or even reposting on Facebook everytime I visit.
I haven’t deleted my Twitter profile. I’m not sure I will. Maybe I’ll just let it linger there until Elon decides to boot me out. I visit it infrequently now. Mostly to see what the latest political issues are in the Philippines. I’m more likely to find though the latest celebrity scandal or breakup.
We’re holding the first #HealthXPH tweet chat tonight 8 Feb 2025 9 pm on BlueSky. Maybe no one will show up, or just the #HealthXPH gang. I don’t care really. We didn’t care about that when we started a decade ago. Let’s just talk about …
T1. You’re on BlueSky, but are you still on Twitter? Will you finally leave Twitter? Why or why not?
T2. How do you plan to set up your BlueSky feed? Will you follow those you used to follow on Twitter? Have you used BlueSky starter packs?
T3. What are you expecting here at BlueSky?
If you haven’t read it, here’s the link to Cory Doctorow’s article on the enshittification of social media platforms. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen to BlueSky or at least not soon.
