The #ICEENDO2014 app is social!

After traveling for almost a day from Manila, I’m finally in Chicago! I am grateful to Danielle Whalen for accepting my request to be an official blogger of #ICECENDO2014. I truly enjoyed blogging for the 2013 meeting and I look forward to blogging again this year. It’s my first time to visit Chicago!

Have you downloaded the app for this year’s meeting? I reviewed the 2013 app here. So what’s new? It’s social! The app allows users to complete a profile which is then published in a directory under the “Attendees” button. There is an option to add and request friends. What is interesting is you can share your schedule with friends so it’s possible to meet up at conference rooms.

Here’s what my profile page looks like. You can provide links to your Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn account. And of course, a picture 🙂

The 2013 app had a Twitter feed. This year’s app added feeds from Facebook and Instagram for more networking opportunities. I hope wifi access is available inside the conference rooms so I can do live tweeting. Barring that, I can take down notes using the app and tweet quotes or insights later.

Another new feature on the app is the QR code scanner – helpful when you visit the exhibits. I hope poster presentations also have a QR code!

There is also a new “Downloads” button – I wonder what handouts will be made available thru this.

In the meantime, I’m still trying to finish my meeting schedule. Let’s see how many friends I can meet at #ICEENDO2014. See you!
